The Cinderella pumpkin is a French heirloom from the 1880’s. A stunning, deeply ridged, dark orange pumpkin that is not only beautiful, but also delicious. The flesh is creamy and mildly sweet making it perfect for roasting, soups, desserts and for canning. The fruit also store well.
In French it’s called “Rouge Vif D’Etampes”, which translates to “Vivid red from Etampes”, the town it was first grown in. Here, we call it a Cinderella pumpkin because it was the inspiration for the carriage in the fairy tale.
The pumpkins can reach up to 20 lbs. each.
